As Managing Partner of Mashburn Development, LLC Dave provides real estate, development, and consulting services. Provided development services for 10 Marriot and Hilton select service hotels in 2 years. Provided owner’s representation for a $350 million full-service convention hotel. Development of a vacation rental resort.

 As Vice President of Development at True North Hotel Group in Overland Park, KS Dave was responsible for identifying and analysis of potential hotel development and acquisitions.

  As Director of Development at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO Dave reported directly to the founder of the company and was responsible for development of retail, resort and other commercial developments across the country. Dave was responsible for staffing, budgeting and oversight of all construction and new development for the company.

  As Development Director at John Q. Hammons Hotels and Resorts in Springfield, MO Dave directed the development of over twenty full-service convention center hotel projects across the country totaling over 1 Billion in development. Responsibilities included budgeting, development agreements, contracts with contractors and design professionals. Oversight and hiring of project management staff. Mr. Mashburn also works in negotiations with city leaders and their legal representation for public/private financing and other incentives.

As Vice President at Leisure Hotels and Resorts in Leawood, KS Dave led a team of design and construction professionals in the renovation and development of several projects in the mid-west. He managed a staff of purchasing managers and clerks and created a facility management position for the ongoing maintenance of a portfolio of 24 hotels.

  As Managing Partner at Destination Ventures, L.L.C. projects included the $92 million Sheraton Convention Center Hotel in Overland Park, Kansas, an executive conference center and resort hotel for the State of Kansas and an historic boutique hotel in Weston, Missouri.

  As Vice President of Business Development at Walton Construction Company, Inc. based in Kansas City, MO. There he directed business development efforts on a national basis including the opening of new offices in Atlanta, GA and Phoenix, AZ. His responsibilities included hiring and directing marketing and business development staff and strategic planning efforts for each location.

As Director of Business Development at HNTB Corporation, Mr. Mashburn provided strategic planning, marketing and business development leadership for HNTB’s network of offices across the country. Mashburn also lectured and wrote articles for several trade journals concerning the design and development of hotels and Facility Management.
